Top issues during term (5)(Public Safety)
Hiring of Deputy Chiefs of Police
fire services contract termination
Expect possible cost shifts for both towns as they rearrange fire coverage—whether that means new contracts, staffing, or equipment—and taxpayers could feel it.
fire chief appointment
No specific cost is disclosed, so this looks like a leadership change rather than a new spending program.
snow emergency declaration
Ignoring the snow emergency rules could cost you a ticket or tow fee, while the city shoulders the cost of plowing and enforcement.
police chief appointment
The appointment itself doesn’t come with a listed price tag, but the chief’s priorities can steer how Beloit spends public-safety dollars.
